JASON THE UNIBROUE HERO
As Unibroue stock levels deplete, I thought it was time to honour Australia's own Unibroue hero, Jason. See his post to the Aussie Home Brewer forum below, classic!:
It's been a while since I've been on AHB, but I thought I'd add my condolences to the thread as well.
Blanche de Chambly and I started off like any young couple, me wanting to try new and exciting things and her willing to open herself up to anyone with the money. Slowly over time we began a love/love relationship that has now lasted for around 3 years. She then introduced me to her friends, La Fin du Monde, Quelque Chose, 16, 17, Ephemere and Maudite. Whilst all of her friends and I have had our flings, I still return to my Blanche de Chambly, and she will always hold a special place in my heart.
My wife didn't even mind when Blanche de Chambly made a special appearance at our honeymoon in Broome (courtesy of my parents flying up for my birthday). I still regret giving away a bottle to the brewer (PJ I think) @ Matsos in Broome (he traded me a couple of bottles of Mash's Mex beer). More recently, my parents bought the last 19 stubbies from the International Beer Shop for my birthday in August.
Ladies, you will be missed, so until we meet again, so long and thanks for all the fish!
CRAFT BEER PROFITABILITY
This video explains why offering more craft beer options in your venue can be better for your bottom line, than the mediocre mass market brands. Put aside 5 minutes of your time, do yourself a favour and allow Stone Brewing CEO Greg Koch to take you through it, in this simple, yet well presented video.

UNIBROUE UPDATE 7 June 2010
For those of you who don't yet know. Unibroue Brewery has stopped exporting their wonderful beers to Australia and the rest of the world (excepting USA). The simple reason we were given was, their brewery couldn't keep up with local and international demand. It is sad news, however I'm sure they'll be back one day.
In the meantime, enjoy the last supplies while you can still get them and also try our replacement for Unibroue, Dieu du Ciel! (see below) which will be filling the void left by Unibroue nicely. Craig
DIEU DU CIEL! BEERS ARRIVE IN AUSTRALIA 19 April 2010
We are excited to announce the introduction of the highly regarded Dieu du Ciel! (god in heaven!) range of beers from Quebec, Canada to Australia for the first time.
In December last year I met with the owners at their groovy little Montreal brewpub and was amazed by the quality and depth of their range, just some of the styles they brew successfully are; Coffee Imperial Stouts, Hibiscus witbiers, American IPA’s to Belgian-styled quadruples.
Don’t just take my word for it, according to the dedicated beerists on BeerAdvocate.com at the time of writing, they brew the best beer in Canada, a 9.5% Coffee Imperial Stout that goes by the name of Péché Mortel meaning Mortal Sin. In fact, five Dieu du Ciel! beers are ranked in the top 25 Canadian beers rated on BeerAdvocate.com; Péché Mortel (1st), Aphrodisiaque (4th), Derniere Volonte, Desse Nocturne and Chaman. More info on the Dieu du Ciel! product page. Enjoy! Craig.
